Artist: Leonetto Cappiello (1875-1942).

Historical Background: Original vintage advertising poster for Cachou Lajaunie. Featuring a dark background with an image of a young redheaded lady wearing a colorful dress made out of feathers, exhaling smoke, holding a cigarette in one hand and a little yellow tin of the liquorice sweets in the other hand. Cachou Lajaunie was developed in 1880 by a pharmacist, Leon Lajaunie, as a medicinal lozenge and mint breath freshener. Printed by Devambez, Paris in early 1920’s.
