Karl Palda

The firm of Karl Palda was founded in 1888 in Novy Bor (northern Czech republic) and quickly became the largest firm in the neighborhood. Apart from the Novy Bor glassworks it had 2 other workshops, one in Arnultovice and one in Chotovice, together supplying jobs for over 100 workers. The company produced tableware and decorative glass adorned by cutting, engraving and painting. Red and black were the most used colors in Karl Palda’s designs. The firm cooperated closely with glass schools and other manufacturers and were well-respected refiners and exporters of high quality glassware.
